From the outside, my cocoon may not look likable. It is awkward, not ‘fitting in’ to the norms of the outside world.
My habitat, this cocoon, is delicate. Yet beneath the thin skin, a miracle is taking place. My wings are forming, and if the right conditions prevail, one day soon, I will metamorphose and emerge as an individual. My wings will be strong enough to ride the winds and rise above branches as I grace the leaves with my unique and distinct patterns.
But first, I need to be fed and nurtured carefully. Each change has its own special time, and when my time comes, I hope my wings will be strong enough to carry me through all weathers as I join the landscape of the world.

‘Who am I really?
At home I fulfill all their wishes, say what they want to hear, read and watch what they don’t mind much.
Outside I step into a different me – what I say, what I see, what I think – I am free.
Or am I an echo? A shadow of my friends?
Hear what they hear
Say what they say
See what they see
Think what they…
– do I think?
Am I me?’

I see you have posted two voices on youth…what did you think of these? Do you identify with them?
Keep travelling….
wa alaykum as Salaam
They really put into words the thoughts of young minds.
I can relate with both the voices. I felt as if I wrote them :)
